You can download the latest version of any purchased landing page at any time from your customer profile.
Updating means replacing the landing page files on your server with the new version. Almost everything in the update is safe to overwrite — but a small number of files contain your own data: your settings and content, your uploaded images, your license key and your admin login. Back those up first, restore them after, and an update never loses anything.
Step 1: Back Up Your Data
Download the following items from your server to your computer. Find your product’s column and work straight down it:
| What it is | CouponRocket | All other landing pages |
|---|---|---|
| Your database (all settings, content and texts) | /app/Database/db.sqlite3 | /includes/db.sqlite3 |
| Your uploaded images | the whole /public/assets/uploads folder | the whole /assets/img folder |
| Your license key | license-info.php (main folder) | /admin/db_action/m_s_k.php |
| Your admin username and password | admin-configuration.php (main folder) | admin-configuration.php (main folder) |
| Your sitemap (optional, for SEO) | — | sitemap.xml (main folder) |
About the database file: next to db.sqlite3 you may also see db.sqlite3-wal and db.sqlite3-shm. If they exist, copy them too and always keep the three files together as a set — they can contain your most recent changes.
About images: your database stores only the names of your images, not the images themselves. If the image files are missing after an update, your site will show broken images even though every setting looks correct. This is the most commonly forgotten backup item — copy the whole images folder listed above.
Step 2: Upload the New Version
Extract the downloaded .zip archive and upload all of its files into the same directory where your landing page is currently installed, overwriting the existing files.
If you are not sure how to upload files to your server, see our guide on uploading landing page files.
Step 3: Restore Your Backup
Copy each backed-up item back to the exact location you took it from, replacing the fresh files that came with the update:
- Database — copy db.sqlite3 (together with any -wal and -shm files) back into its folder.
- Images — copy your images folder back, so your logos, icons and pictures return to their original locations.
- License key file — copy it back, so you do not have to re-enter your key.
- admin-configuration.php — copy it back, so your admin login stays the same.
- sitemap.xml (other landing pages) — copy it back, or skip this and simply re-save any app in the next step, which regenerates it automatically.
Step 4: Check That Everything Works
Open your landing page in the browser and confirm your content and images all appear as before. Then log in to the admin panel and save something once:
- CouponRocket: open the settings page and click Save.
- All other landing pages: open any section of the admin settings and click Save.
A successful save means the update is complete and everything is preserved — your license and database are both confirmed working on the new version.
If You Already Overwrote Something
Nothing is permanently lost as long as you still have a backup. If you did not make one, here is what each missing item means:
- License key was reset — enter your license key again in the admin dashboard. You can always find it in your customer profile.
- Admin login no longer works — the login has been reset to the default supplied with the .zip archive. Log in with the default details and the panel will immediately ask you to set a new password.
- Images are missing or broken — re-upload them through the admin panel.
- Settings and content are gone — the database file was overwritten. It can only be restored from a backup, which is why we recommend one before every update.
If your site shows an error after restoring the database: the restored file may need write permissions. Set db.sqlite3 to 644 and its containing folder to 755, or ask your hosting support to make the file writable by the website. On landing pages other than CouponRocket, the /admin/db_action folder must also be writable, otherwise saving your license key will fail.
